A tour through the Biltmore House & Gardens at age nine began my journey into interior design. Ever since then I’ve been dreaming about and designing interiors for myself and others. I have a double-major at the University of Akron for Interior Design and Fashion Merchandising and have been trained as a kitchen designer and accredited staging professional.
I’ve been designing all my life. I’ve been staging professionally for 15 years in the real estate industry.
I can’t go into a home or public building, store, restaurant, etc. and not study every detail of design within my field of vision. I question why every detail was decided upon. I try to guess the reason behind every detail. I question the placement of everything; the colors; the scale; the choice of finishes and/or materials used, the furniture, art and accessories chosen.
Despite this, friends still invite me into their homes. I rarely try to rearrange things. I am sometimes asked for design advice which I gladly provide. Then we talk about what to rearrange.
I love to make environments beautiful. I love to make people’s lives more beautiful. And I can accomplish this with my career in staging. It’s a win-win prospect for my clients and myself. The homeowner is happy because their home looks fabulous, the realtor is happy because the home sells quickly and for top dollar, and I’m happy because I love to make the world more beautiful one room at a time.
